Flat Markers, sometimes referred to as foot stones, are generally 4-inches thick. There are several ways to set a Flat Marker. • Flush without collar: The marker would be set flush in the ground, with no cement collar. • Flush with collar: The marker would be placed in a cement collar, usually about 5" around the marker, and then set flush in the ground. • Above Ground: The marker would be set on a pre-cast cement foundation |
Beveled Markers are generally 6-inches tall in the back, tapering to 4-1/2-inches in the front, or 8-inches tall in the back, tapering to 6-1/2-inches tall in front. Beveled Markers are always set on a concrete foundation; however a matching granite base may be used in place of the concrete foundation. |
Slant Markers are generally 2' to 4' in length, 16" tall, and cut with a tapered face. Set on a concrete or granite foundation. To add a "special touch", you may add a matching granite "base" between the foundation and the Slant Marker.. |
Monuments are often referred to as head stones or upright memorials. 1. A concrete or granite foundation 2. A granite base 3. The granite tablet or die Tablets are generally available in two thicknesses: 6-inches, or 8-inches. The thickness of the tablet determines the height of the base. |

Backed Benches are suitable for a cemetery setting, or they can be used in a less traditional location, such as a golf course, a park, or a church. Backed benches are also suitable for non-memorial use. |
Garden Benches are backless benches that can be used in almost any setting, and are commonly used in veteran and war memorials, as in some of our civic memorials. |

As cremation grows in popularity, we would still like to encourage you to consider a traditional memorial for your loved one. Traditional memorials provide an important place for you to maintain your connection to your loved one and your memories. A cremation memorial can be a personal or family memorial located in a traditional cemetery setting. Even if the cremains are not interred in the cemetery, the deceased's name can still be inscribed on a memorial and placed in the cemetery, providing the family with a focus for their time of grieving and a place for future generations to visit. At Johnson Monument, we offer several options for cremation memorials, including columbarium’s, cored-for-cremains memorials, and cremation benches. |
